Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has vowed to use his money, contacts and power to ensure that Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige becomes the next Governor of Anambra State adding that his (Ngige’s) victory is ‘signed, sealed and delivered’.
Okorocha, who is also
the leader of the National Campaign Committee of All Progressives Congress
(APC) for Senator Ngige said this Tuesday in Awka, Anambra State during the
inauguration of the National Campaign Committee which was attended by the
National Publicity Secretary of the party Alhaji Lai Mohammed and other
National leadership of the party including APC stalwarts from other states of
the federation.
The members of the
Committee include, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the National Deputy Chairman of the
party South East, Dr Nyerere Eyim, the National Woman Leader, Barr Shalon
Ikeazo, the Acting Chairman of Ngige Campain Organisation, Chief Geoge
Muoghalu, Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Donatus Onyemaram,
the Minority Leader of Anambra State house of assembly,Hon Tony Muonago, Hon
Calister Nwacghukwu among others.
The Committee was
inaugurated by the National Leader, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Addressing the party
supporters, Okorocha noted that there is no basis for competition between Ngige
and other candidates adding that the competition is between Ngige and powers
that be from Abuja.
He described Ngige as
the only man who will use the resources of Anambra State to work for them.
"And that
informed my decision of throwing my weight behind him. We are tired of being
remote controlled by Abuja people. So, let the distractions from other parties
not panic you as we are ready to match them one on one. When the time comes, I
will relocate to Anambra State and am ready to use my money, contacts and power
do deliver Ngige because he has been tested and trusted. The only thing you owe
us is to vote and guide your votes jealously," he said.
Responding, the Governorship
candidate of APC, Senator Chris Ngige assured Anambrarians that the light will
shine again in Anambra.
"We are in the
journey together and we shall sing and rejoice together.”
