My Epilogue to my confused Naija woman! - Doki Wada

She made my room mate stay awake all night as he reminisced about her charm, beauty and the life he dreamed they'd spend together. They had been good ol' friends but she was one that was within reach, yet so difficult to win her heart over. She visited us at my friend's behest yet she was resolute and was sure to always offer a NAY to his marriage proposal. He had sent her freshly-cut rose flowers with their red petals by courier to her work place.

Then again, I fell in love with another in her ilk, whom my heart yearned for but she rebuffed my offer of love. Then did I reckon with what my room mate had faced, and why he was disconsolate for a pretty long time when it was obvious that the lady whom he loved, didn't love him as much yet preferred to remain his friend. But poor guys as we are, we seek for love where it's unrequited, yet disdain those that easily walk into our lives.

Maybe it's the hunter's instinct in us that makes us drown in the river while pursuing an elusive love-made-in-heaven. From my interaction with a couple of guys, not a few have had this 'Odinso Eruaka" experience and after the reality hit home, they accepted that the lady they loved was not ready to settle down with them and they moved on...which was the best and most realistic option available. Lick your wound, bind together the edges of your broken heart, and move on with life until you find love that will be requited....and it's same for women who find themselves enmeshed in the pursuit of a man that they love, whose heart is somewhere else! Enjoy the read! Then again, I fell in love with another in her ilk, whom my heart yearned for but she rebuffed my offer of love. Her colleagues were envious and not a few guys were in hot pursuit of her,but she spurned them all. Her heart was somewhere else and the guy was one that had stolen her heart, yet he had no plans to marry her. I wondered what on earth would make her not marry a smashing and smart guy like my room mate, whose future is so promising....and my friend rightly christened her, Odinso Eruaka! Someone that's too close, yet not within one's reach!
