Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, has been accused of beating up the Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Chief Ogbe.

Dickson is alleged to have invited the Southern Ijaw Chairman to the Government House, where he beat him up severely.
The APC claims that as a result of the beating, Ogbe has been consigned to an hospital bed in Warri, Delta state, since he got assaulted.
Director of Media and Publicity of Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organisation, Nathan Egba, released a statement on Tuesday, stating that Dickson has a record of harassing and assaulting people.
“If as expected the Chairman cannot summon the courage to do the needful, the APC hereby calls on civil society and other human rights activists, including the National Human Rights Commission, to wade into the matter with a view to restoring the dignity and self-respect of Chief Ogbe.”
“We in the APC are willing to provide either Chief Ogbe or these organisations with at least three eye witnesses to this barbaric attack, as well pictures of the Southern Ijaw Chairman on his hospital bed in Warri, Delta State, where he was taken to after the beating.”
“We wish to condemn such a barbaric actions on the part of Governor Seriake Dickson in the strongest terms, as we recall that he did the same thing [took place] when he sacked the Federal High Court [in] Yenagoa.”
