I’m not dumping Nigeria – Okagbare

Embattled African queen of the tracks, Blessing Okagbare, has stated that she is not contemplating dumping Nigeria for another country despite her poor outing and the controversy that surrounded her performance at the just concluded World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

The double Commonwealth Games champion finished last in the 100m final and controversially missed out on the 200m event claiming a hamstring injury which later generated a lot of remarks after it was discovered that she had an altercation with some officials of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria.

The Delta-State born sprinter further fuelled the controversy with her ranting on her facebook page where she slammed her critics and journalists.

One of her fans on facebook Abiodun Bakare on Wednesday urged her to dump Nigeria for another country saying, “Blessing why not naturalise to another country where you can achieve all the success in you because I believe you are better than those Jamaicans. What you need is just support.”
