The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has not sought its advice on how to effectively tackle the issue of insurgency in the country, especially the Boko Haram menace.
Its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh said while the party will not constitute itself a distraction to the policy the APC- controlled have on tackling insurgency, it is ready to offer private advice to the party on how best to effectively wage the war if the need arise.
“We will not distract them from the policy they have on the fight against insurgency. We will not constitute ourselves a distraction”.
“They are in government. They have not requested for any idea from us. And if we have any idea we will give it privately, not publicly. Because insurgency is a serious matter, it is a very sensitive matter”.
“It is not something that we will be politicizing or stating publicly. We do not want to politicize the war against insurgency. We will rather remain very private on it and pray for the government to get it right and for Nigeria to be successful” he said.
In his response, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Lai Mohammed said he wondered what manner of idea the PDP has to share that it didn’t offer former president Goodluck Jonathan while in office.

“Yoruba have a saying that ‘ if someone promises to give another man a cloth, we first look at the clothes that he is wearing’. What advice do they have? They want to be in the opposition but they are so amateurish in their approach”.
“They obviously do not understand that It is not the amount of what you say as an opposition that matters but the credibility of it. If they know they have any advice to give, let them go and publish it in the newspapers. After all, they publish
