NYONG (ndiyo eyen unen) by Orok Duke

NYONG
(ndiyo eyen unen)

When we got in touch with her father,
He was completely devastated.
Men just wanted to buy them
Gifts,trips and dinners.
They were just lonely souls
Who wouldn't take no,for an answer.

She packed her things and left home,
For big city dreams.
Then she got murdered,
On our collective watch.

There are reasons that people die,
Whenever Cupid gets it wrong.
Goodbye get missing and leaves a sour taste,
When love leaves in a haste:
Then you will no more hear those voices,
That kept pushing for strange choices.

Too many reasons why she is no more here,
She came and then disappeared.
The sky rearranged it's shades
And she didn't  harvest smiles as she said
The hollow sea shells still sound the same-
Playing the same eternal music, since we came.
