Odinkalu, Unity Schools Old Students threaten to march to Chibok, other Boko Haram war zones

The Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) is planning to march to Chibok, Damaturu-Biu and other North-eastern parts of the country affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, made this known on Wednesday in Lagos while speaking at the National Dialogue organised by The Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association, Lagos State Chapter, in conjunction with the National Secretariat of USOSA.
“I want the government to see education as a national security,” Odinkalu said. He noted that “every child that dies in government schools in the North-East of the country by the Boko Haram insurgents dies within the premises of the Federal Government and the government needs to take responsibility for their loss.”
The popular human rights lawyer called on products of unity schools and Nigerians in general to show solidarity to the unity schools around them.
In his speech at the occasion, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who was represented by the Sarki Kano, Alhaji Muhammed Sani, called for uniform standard for every school in the country and the sustainability of the unity schools.
