Gov Ganduje relocates Kano APC from Govt house

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to henceforth operate from the party’s secretariat.
Since the formation of the party, its state executives have been operating from the Kano Government House as they abandoned their secretariat.
Speaking during a meeting with Elders’ forum of the party in the state, Ganduje said that his administration would separate executive affairs from that of the ruling party in the state to ensure good governance.
“The party executives from now on would remain at the state secretariat of the APC to discharge their constitutional roles,” he said.
He said henceforth the executive arm of government would concentrate on providing people with dividends of democracy while party officials would engage in all issues related to card carrying members of the party, for better understanding.
The governor stressed that the state APC executives must be at the secretariat to discuss party affairs as well as to advise government on policy making, pointing out that the party is the strongest political party ever formed in Nigeria.
He then told the elders that his government is expecting their constructive advice, maintaining that “because you are closer to people, you ought to see and hear what the executive arm of the government cannot see and hear.”
Ganduje in a statement by his Director General Media and Communications, Alhaji Halilu Dantiye, assured the party elders that he would carry them along in his administration.
Earlier, the Chairman, APC Elders Forum, Alhaji Salisu Buhari, has said that they were at the Government House to congratulate the governor on his inauguration, adding that they are also ready to support and work with his government in order to contribute their quota.
