About 500 youths
including members of the Rotary club were on Friday detained in Port Harcourt,
Rivers State by the police.
The youths heading for
the government house for an inspection programme of projects by the state
government were asked to write an undertaken that they were not organizing a
demonstration over the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities
(ASUU).
They were later
released to go and given approval for the inspection program organized by
District 9140 of the Rotary club.
