SOMETHING old, something new,
something ... alight and smoking.
The Trash the Dress
craze has taken a new and dangerous twist with an Israeli bride pouring lighter
fluid on her gown and setting it on fire for a dramatic photo shoot before she
runs into the sea.
The ritual in which
newly married women pose for the cameras while destroying their bridal gowns has already proved fatal,
in the case of a Canadian girl who drowned in a waterfall during a Trash the Dress ceremony.
Playing in the mud, frolicking in the surf, paintballing, food fights, jumping off
a cliff into the ocean, water skiing, cutting, ripping and soaking dresses in
dye are just some of the ways brides have acted out the trend.
Now Natasha Samuel has
burned her dress on a beach for the sake of an everlasting memory.
Samuel, a political
science graduate from Tel Aviv, married Daniel Yakcobi in May.
Following the exchange
of their vows, she had a friend soak the train of her dress in lighter fluid
and then set the gown on fire, according to the Daily Mail.
