The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had asked Wakili to lay a petition he presented on behalf of the students of Bauchi State over exorbitant school fees at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU).
While he was on his way to lay it, Abaribe raised a point of order, saying Wakili should not be allowed to lay the petition as he was not properly dressed.
While he was on his way to lay it, Abaribe raised a point of order, saying Wakili should not be allowed to lay the petition as he was not properly dressed.
“Mr. President, my distinguished colleague is not properly dressed, as such, he should not be allowed to lay the petition. He is wearing suit without a tie,” Abaribe said.
In his response, Wakili faulted Abaribe’s observation, saying “I’m properly dressed and if you look at the way Obama dresses, you will appreciate my dressing.”
In his remark, Saraki said he had noted the observations of Abaribe and asked Wakili to lay the petition.
Wakili laid it and Saraki referred the petition to the Senate Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions committee.
