Lewinsky’s affair with Bill Clinton is back in the news this week thanks to a newly uncovered sex
tape.
The
sex tape doesn’t include any raunchy images of the former president and his
intern but it does include some audio of Lewinsky and Clinton as they arrange a
time and place to meet.
The
tape was uncovered by the National Enquirer and was reportedly recorded during
“the height” of their relationship. The tape features Lewinsky telling the
president how they can meet without raising suspicion.
Lewinsky says: “Now the first thing that has to
happen is that you need to pre-plan with [the president's secretary] Betty that
you will leave the office at, I don’t know, at 7, 7:30 so that everyone else
who hates me that causes me lots of trouble goes home.”
She
then tells the president to sneak back into the office where she may or may not take off
her clothes.
Lewinsky
says: “I could take my clothes off and start… well… I know you wouldn’t enjoy
that? I hope to see you later and I hope you will follow my script and do what
I want.”
Lewinsky
also tells Clinton that she is “too cute and adorable” to be ignored.
The
sex tape, as well as a few love letters, were supposed to have been destroyed
by one of Lewinsky’s house cleaners back in the 1990s. The cleaner pocketed the
evidence, however, and now the information is being released.
The
Bill Clinton sex scandal may be old news but some people think that it could
have an impact on the 2016 election. Hillary Clinton is considered a front
runner for the Democratic nomination and many people believe that the sex
scandal could hurt her chances.
But Slate points out that Hillary saw a bump
in popularity back in 1997 when the sex scandal first made the news.
